Our Practice in Edson

Dr. Henry grew up in Edson, Alberta, and graduated from Parkland Composite High School. She attended the University of Alberta and achieved her Bachelor of Science in biological sciences before moving on to beautiful Puerto Rico to study optometry. There, she attended the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, graduating with distinction in 2014. 

After completing her schooling, Krista moved back to Alberta so she could give back to the community she grew up in. Dr. Henry’s primary interest lies in complete family care, offering the latest technologies and treatment options. 

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her 2 daughters and husband, as well as running and playing hockey.

Colin was raised on a farm in southern Alberta and attended school in Bassano, Alberta. Colin then studied chemistry at the University of Alberta and finance at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton. 

Currently, Colin is pursuing his MBA in executive management and hopes to never open another textbook again after. Colin previously worked for TD and Scotiabank in Calgary and Edmonton, specializing in personal banking and wealth. 

In his off time, Colin enjoys sports, good beer, and his kids when they are well behaved.

Nikki has been working in the optical industry since 2014 and has been with Henry Family Vision since 2017 after graduating from Northern Alberta Institute of Technology’s optical sciences program.

As a registered optician, Nikki loves learning new things and working closely with Dr. Henry and Dr. Toor to serve our patients better and accommodate their various needs, from a simple pair of reading glasses to progressives or whatever will best suit your lifestyle. Nikki is also certified on our TempSure Envi machine and is more than happy to answer your questions and arrange a consultation.

When she’s not at work, Nikki likes to read, try out new recipes for her family, and loves spending time with her husband Trevor and 2 kids, Sophia and Silas.

Nicole was born and raised in Edson and has been in the optical industry for 15 years. She completed Northern Alberta Insitute of Technology’s Optical Sciences program to become a licensed optician in 2009 and has plied her trade here in Edson.  

In her spare time, Nicole enjoys travelling, slo-pitch, camping, riding quads, spending time with family, and building puzzles. 

Carissa has been at Henry Family Vision Care since 2018 and grew up in Edson.  Carissa is currently in Northern Alberta Institute of Technology’s Optical Sciences program to become a licensed optician and she is certified in Tempsure.  She loves to help people pick out the perfect frame and visit with everyone who comes into the clinic.

Carissa has 3 kids, a dog, and a cat, which keep her busy out of work. She also loves spending time at the lake with her friends and family or watching Friends.

Mattie grew up in Edson after moving here at a young age. Mattie has a positive attitude and a personable demeanour, which helps keep the environment light-hearted and never lacking in conversation. After working at the Edson Medical Centre she discovered a passion for healthcare, which along with her personality, makes her a great fit at Henry Family Vision Care.

In her spare time, Mattie loves to paint, quilt and scrapbook. Mattie is also engaged to be married and is looking forward to what life brings next.

Sabrina has been working in the eye care industry since 2018. After completing the Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant (CCOA) program in 2019, she joined the Henry Family Vision team in 2022 and has been a vital member of our practice since. 

Sabrina loves sharing her knowledge about eye care with anyone that walks through the door and is always here to help our patients feel their best and look their best.

When she’s not at work, Sabrina loves hanging out with her friends and family and taking walks around beautiful Edson!
